The Sanctuary/Auditorium seats 1150 - with, many believe, the best acoustics in town. Exceptionally bright with no echo/flutter [and almost no diminishment]. Grand piano. Cassavant pipe organ. Sound system. Large thrust stage. You can rent the Auditorium alone [for an afternoon or evening] or we have special rents for large events that include the use of two rooms (for green rooms and/or reception). We are wheelchair accessible (through the 406 Edmonton entrance) with an accessible washroom on the main level. Interestingly, when they build the church, 100 years ago, they made all the religious symbolism portable - it was intended to serve as a community art/performance/gathering space from the start.
The Du Val Parlour is a large and beautiful room with high ceilings, amber glass and antique carolean-style furniture. There is a kitchenette attached. The room can be used for receptions or workshops/meetings for 30-40 people (or smaller groups). For stand-up receptions the capacity would be 80.
The Chapel is a lovely intimate space that set up to 80. The ambience is subtle and generates a feeling of peace/healing. Sound sytem & piano. There is a raised stage area at the front and a wide centre aisle (great if your community loves to dance!). The stained glass windows at the front are the original windows from Manitoba College. The chapel has a special place in the lives of members of the Japanese community at Knox, and they continue to have worship there once a month.
The McLeod Hall, lower level, can seat up to about 175, or accommodate a stand up reception of 250. Small café style tables are available, or round wooden tables, or larger rectangular plastic banquet tables. The kitchen is adjoining with an easy pass through. There is immediate elevator access as well.
The Café Room, also on the lower level, is a funky informal space that can be used for groups of up to 80. Hardwood floors. Cafe style tables available - or larger ones if you wish. It is in the process of being turned into a café (once we raise the funds) and, with its high ceilings, and light ambience is a great place for meetings or workshops.
The Gym (a half-gym actually) on the second floor is also available, suitable for recreation programs, or mid-size gatherings (up to about 150). With its wrap-around large windows at the ceiling level on three sides, there is lovely natural light - quite unusual for a gym. The gym is available for rent on weekday evenings and on weekends.
The Boardroom (main floor) is available on weekday afternoons and evenings and weekends. Its large wooden table can seat about 14.
The CE Area, on the lower level, below the sanctuary/auditorium outside the Women’s Resource Centre can also be rented. Suitable for smaller workshops or meetings. There are meeting rooms and child-minding rooms surrounding.
